7. Carolina Dog

The Carolina Dog, also known as the American Dingo, has lived in North America for thousands of years. Some still roam wild in the Carolinas today. These medium-sized dogs are cautious with strangers but become loyal and affectionate once they trust someone. With their pointed ears, fish-hook tail, and pack behavior, they closely resemble their wild ancestors. Properly socialized Carolina Dogs make devoted family pets. Their high energy and natural hunting instincts make them ideal for active owners who can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
