Bucket Openings Turned into Nesting Cubbies
Short cylindrical containers sit on wooden shelves with their open ends facing outward, creating a compact set of individual nesting spaces. Straw is visible inside, and hens occupy several of the openings. Their feathers stand out against the pale sides: a white hen sits beside a brown one, while a barred bird and two warm-toned hens share the lower row. The circular entrances frame each bird, giving the scene a repeated pattern of rounded shapes and feathered faces.
Wooden boards and braces support the shelves against a plank wall, so the setup reads clearly as a handmade arrangement within the coop. At right, a white pipe runs vertically and then along the length of the structure, adding a contrasting line to the wood grain and cylindrical openings. The composition shifts from the occupied cubbies in the foreground toward a long, more open row in the background. That contrast makes the nesting area feel both specific and spacious: a cluster of close, straw-lined spaces beside an extended section of bare structure.
