A lop-eared rabbit above a gathering of cinnamon-colored young

A large cinnamon-colored rabbit sits near the center of a straw-covered enclosure, its long ears hanging down alongside its face. Beneath and around it, many smaller rabbits overlap in a dense grouping. Their warm brown coats blend closely with one another, so the clearest differences come from their varied head positions and ear shapes. One young rabbit faces toward the viewer near the lower right, while others tuck their noses down or turn toward their neighbors. The adult’s higher position and distinct outline make it easy to pick out among the clustered forms. Wire panels enclose the scene, and wooden uprights divide the background into vertical sections. Straw fills the floor and gathers around the animals, creating a textured golden-brown base that echoes their coloring. The enclosure’s straight grid contrasts with the rounded bodies and soft contours of the rabbits. The camera’s fairly wide view includes both the family group and much of its surroundings, but the composition remains centered on the animals. Compared with the black-and-white grouping earlier, this scene is more unified in color, with subtle variations of russet and tan replacing strong dark markings.
