You will make good progress toward your potassium RDA

Since we do not exactly know what potassium does, we often overlook its importance. Every cell in your body needs potassium to generate an electrical charge for proper function, making it one of the most crucial nutrients. Along with maintaining a healthy heart rate, potassium also releases insulin as needed to control blood sugar.
If you are concerned about your potassium intake, talk to your doctor. Healthy adults are advised to consume 3,500-4,700 mg of potassium every day. Other good potassium sources include white beans, potatoes (white and sweet), beets, spinach, watermelon, and tomato sauce. Still, two medium bananas provide about 900 mg of potassium, so it is a great start.
