Interestingly, carrots are among the hardiest of vegetables, thanks to their remarkable ability to endure winter underground without losing their vitality.

Additionally, if you think that baby carrots are an entirely different variety, that’s a misconception. In reality, baby carrots are typically just regular-sized carrots that have been trimmed down to bite-sized pieces. While they may look appealing in their cut form, their original, irregular shapes would make them challenging to market, leading to the creation of the more uniform baby carrot.

When it comes to watermelons and tomatoes, it’s easy to notice that they are predominantly composed of water. However, potatoes share this characteristic as well, containing about 80% water! So, if you were adventurous enough, you could technically squeeze a potato and drink its juice. Though, personally, I think I’d prefer to fry them instead!

Moreover, apples are quite interesting in their own right, as they consist of roughly 25% air. This is why they can float, making them perfect for a game of bobbing for apples! In a humorous twist, this means that when you spend $10 on apples, about $2.50 of that cost is essentially for… nothing! It’s a reminder that we often worry about the cost of air in snack bags, but apples come with their own airy surprise.
