4.Rippled or Pitted Nails

If your nails are not smooth, you may be deficient in zinc, calcium, or vitamin A, or you might be developing a skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis. Pitting, or tiny dents in the nail surface, is often associated with these issues. These changes can appear as small depressions or wave-like patterns. Psoriasis is well known for causing nail pitting, and the severity of nail changes often corresponds to the severity of skin symptoms. Other conditions like alopecia areata and lichen planus can also cause nail pitting. While proper nail care can help prevent further damage, treatment usually focuses on managing the underlying condition rather than the nail changes themselves.
